Sunil Gavaskar’s reaction on Virat Kohli’s lowest score in T20 World Cup against Ireland
Amid Hardik Pandya’s stellar performance and Rohit Sharma’s many achievements, Virat Kohli suffered a rare failure on Wednesday. Opening with India captain Rohit, the in-form Kohli scored only one run in the T20 World Cup 2024 opener against Ireland. Due to this innings of Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal did not get a place in the team.
While Rohit Sharma performed brilliantly, Kohli misused his aggressive shots and scored just one run in five balls. Earlier in the T20 World Cup, Kohli’s average was 81.5 and he had scored more than 50 runs 14 times in 25 innings. But this time, Kohli recorded his lowest score in the T20 World Cup.

Gavaskar warned Kohli against Pakistan
Sunil Gavaskar said, “If great players like Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, Babar Azam and Joe Root fail in one match, then in the next match they want to score double the runs to compensate for it. The number of runs Kohli did not score against Ireland, he would like to score double the runs against Pakistan.” “Scoring against Pakistan is always special,” Gavaskar told Star Sports.
Sunil Gavaskar has seen a ray of hope even in this failure of Kohli.
He believes that Kohli will be an excellent batsman against Pakistan. Will return after playing innings. He supported Kohli and said that he can play another match-winning innings against Babar Azam’s team.
