Election outcome 2024: Narendra Modi is set to be sworn in as India’s Prime Minister for a third term on June 8, according per media reports. As to the report, the new cabinet would also take oath on the same day.

The BJP got 240 seats in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Though the party failed to cross majority, however, with the support of its allies, the NDA has combined captured 295 seats. The numbers of the INDIA bloc were at 231. In contrast to what the exit poll anticipated, the INDIA bloc presented a tough battle to the BJP-led NDA.
The party’s score was substantially lower than its 2019 tally of 303 and the 282 seats it had won in 2014. On the other side, The Congress, reported a remarkable growth by obtaining 99 seats compared to 52 that it had won in 2019 and 44 seats in 2014.

The BJP fell 32 seats short of the 272 majority mark after votes polled in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were tabulated. For the first time, since the BJP stormed to power in 2014, it did not achieve a majority on its own.
Today, the NDA is set to conduct meeting to plan out tactics for future courses of political activity. The NDA leaders are set to gather at Prime Minister Modi’s house around 3:30 pm.
Earlier on June 4, PM Modi congratulated the people for the mandate and stated BJP-led NDA will establish its third straight government and that it is the victory of the will of Viksit Bharat, of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’ and of the great faith of people in India’s Constitution.
“On this sacred day, it is confirmed that NDA is forming the government for the third time. We are grateful to the people, they reposed entire faith in the BJP, and NDA. This is the win of the world’s largest democracy, it is a victory of strong trust in India’s Constitution, it is the victory of the commitment of Viksit Bharat. It is the victory of ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas’,” he remarked in his address at the BJP headquarters.
