Election outcome 2024: Narendra Modi is set to be sworn in as India’s Prime Minister for a third term on June 8, according per media reports. As to the report, the new cabinet would also take oath on the same day.

A day after the Lok Sabha vote results were released, the Union cabinet chaired by PM Modi on June 5 proposed the dissolution of the 17th Lok Sabha, whose term ends on June 16.

Citing sources, ANI stated that both Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Janata Dal-United (JDU), the possible “kingmakers” have given the green signal, the formation of the NDA government and the swearing-in ceremony of PM Modi is expected to take place on June 8. The BJP got 240 seats in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Though the party failed to cross majority, however, with the support of its allies, the NDA has combined captured 295 seats. The numbers of the INDIA bloc were at 231. In contrast to what the exit poll anticipated, the INDIA bloc presented a tough battle to the BJP-led NDA.

The party’s score was substantially lower than its 2019 tally of 303 and the 282 seats it had won in 2014. On the other side, The Congress, reported a remarkable growth by obtaining 99 seats compared to 52 that it had won in 2019 and 44 seats in 2014.
