Ishan Kishan’s Century a brilliant knock of 111 off just 126 balls propelled India C to a strong position, finishing Day 1 at 357 for 5 against India B in the second round of the Duleep Trophy at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur. Baba Indrajith chipped in with a crucial 78, taking India C past the 300-run mark. Together, Kishan and Indrajith forged a solid 189-run partnership for the third wicket.
India B, however, fought back late in the day, thanks to Mukesh Kumar’s impressive figures of 3 for 76.
After being put in to bat by India B, India C’s captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, got things off to a promising start with a boundary off Mukesh Kumar’s very first ball. Unfortunately, Gaikwad was forced to retire hurt just one ball later, after twisting his ankle while attempting a single.
Rajat Patidar and Sai Sudharsan then combined for a steady 92-run stand for the first wicket. However, both were dismissed in quick succession—Patidar was bowled by Navdeep Saini for 40, and Sudharsan followed shortly after, caught by Saini off Mukesh for 43.

It was Kishan and Indrajith who truly took control, batting for over 40 overs together and frustrating the India B bowlers. Kishan was particularly aggressive, smashing 14 boundaries and three sixes during his innings.
Mukesh eventually bowled Kishan, and Indrajith fell six overs later, clean-bowled by leg-spinner Rahul Chahar. A highlight for India C came when Gaikwad returned to the crease after his earlier injury, remaining unbeaten on 42 off just 44 deliveries.
Towards the close of play, Mukesh Kumar continued to shine, trapping Abhishek Porel lbw for a quick 12, while Manav Suthar added two boundaries to end the day on a positive note for India C.
